Repair Biotechnologies has announced the appointment of Prof. Frederick J. Raal to its Scientific Advisory Board. Prof. Raal is a distinguished endocrinologist and specialist in familial hypercholesterolemia, a condition central to the company’s research focus.
Prof. Raal serves as a Distinguished Professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also directs the Carbohydrate and Lipid Metabolism Research Unit. With over 400 published works, he is recognized as a leading authority on lipid disorders and has reviewed for several international journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet.
Repair Biotechnologies is developing a Cholesterol Degrading Platform (CDP) aimed at treating conditions arising from excess cholesterol accumulation, such as atherosclerosis and familial hypercholesterolemia. The company’s therapies are designed to rapidly reduce arterial plaque, potentially offering a significant advancement over current treatments.
The addition of Prof. Raal to the advisory board is expected to enhance the company’s expertise in lipid metabolism and support the development of its novel therapeutic approaches.
