Nicola Marino, Director of AEON Foundation, on the need for unified aging biomarker protocols and standards.
Milan reaffirmed its status as a global hub for longevity and scientific innovation with the highly anticipated Milan Longevity Summit 2025. Coordinated by BrainCircle and co-organized by the AEON Foundation, the event attracted world-renowned experts, including Nobel laureates – Professors Shinya Yamanaka and Venkatraman Ramakrishnan – and leading scientists in the field of aging and health optimization.
Codes of Longevity: The Biomarkers of Aging
A key highlight of the summit was the event Codes of Longevity: The Biomarkers of Aging, held on 26 March and organized by the AEON Foundation. This special session focused on the standardization of aging biomarkers and their profound impact on economy, insurance, policy and healthcare. Bringing together top-tier researchers, physicians and thought leaders, including Andrea Cipriano and Austin Argentieri, the event facilitated high-level discussions on the role of biomarkers in shaping global health strategies and longevity-focused policies.
Another compelling topic explored was the standardization of longevity clinics, a crucial aspect in ensuring consistency and quality across the field. In this regard, the insights of Abigail Gorshen from the Sheba Longevity Institute and Anna Erat from the University Hospital Zurich provided valuable perspectives on the role of AI, shared protocols and, in general, the need for integrating longevity science into mainstream healthcare systems.

Designed to be free and open to the public, the event extended beyond the realm of scientific research to include economic, policy and social discussions, making longevity science accessible and relevant to a broader audience. The presence of VIP guest speakers further enriched the discourse, bridging the gap between science and societal impact.
Interactive side events and startup innovations
In addition to the main summit, a series of immersive side events allowed participants to experience longevity practices firsthand, from diagnostic testing to personalized wellness protocols. These interactive sessions provided attendees with practical insights into longevity-enhancing strategies, making scientific advancements tangible and applicable.
The summit also served as a premier networking platform, fostering collaboration between researchers, industry leaders, and innovators. Startupbootcamp, Europe’s largest accelerator, played a pivotal role by offering startups a unique opportunity to showcase groundbreaking innovations in longevity and health tech.
A vision for the future of longevity
With a high-impact program and world-class speakers, the Milan Longevity Summit 2025 set the stage for future collaborations, and a growingly standardized vision for healthcare and longevity. As Milan continues to be a hub for innovation in longevity, this summit marked a significant step toward integrating cutting-edge science with real-world applications.
