INBRAIN Neuroelectronics announced that Scott Huennekens has been named Chairman of its Board of Directors, as the firm moves its next-generation graphene-based brain-computer interface (BCI-Tx) platform into pivotal trials and commercialization.
Huennekens brings decades of experience founding, scaling and leading med-tech companies. He previously served as CEO of Verb Surgical—the joint venture between Google and Johnson & Johnson focused on surgical robotics—and before that led Volcano Corporation from inception through IPO and eventual acquisition by Philips.
INBRAIN said Huennekens’s background guiding platform-technology companies—spanning imaging, surgical robotics, and intelligent devices—will help steer the commercialization of its graphene-based neurotech. The company is positioning its BCI-Tx for neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke rehabilitation.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for INBRAIN, which recently secured significant funding, won a major European deep-tech grant, and received recognition as a 2025 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum—underscoring growing investor and industry confidence in its platform.
