Sunrise has secured $29 million in a funding round led by Eurazeo, with contributions from investors including Amazon’s Alexa Fund and Kurma Partners, according to the company. The capital will be used to scale Dreem Health, its digital sleep clinic, expand clinical services, and build hardware and software to support sleep diagnosis and treatment.
The firm said Dreem Health currently serves patients in all 50 states, leveraging proprietary technology such as an FDA-cleared mandibular movement sensor to enable home-based diagnosis of sleep apnea. The company claims it already holds regulatory clearances nationwide, maintains contracts with payors covering over 170 million patients, and collaborates with more than 500 referring providers.
Sunrise views its dual role—as both a technology innovator and a care provider—as a differentiator. With the new funds, it plans to accelerate growth of the service network, further invest in next-generation sleep hardware and software, and strengthen its digital-first care delivery.
The company also cited a critical shortage of sleep specialists in the U.S.—noting that more than 70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders while there is only one sleep doctor per approximately 43,000 people—as a central driver behind its strategy.
Founded in 2015, Sunrise is headquartered in Belgium with offices in France and the U.S. Its mission is to integrate advanced diagnostic devices with clinical care to expand access to sleep health services.
