The skincare brand Epicutis announced that its sunscreen Epicutis Lipid Shield SPF 30 has achieved the Environmental Working Group (EWG) Verified® mark. The company says this certification puts the product among the cleanest and safest sunscreens available.
According to the EWG certification criteria, a Verified product must not contain any ingredients from the group’s “unacceptable” or “restricted” lists, must fully disclose all ingredients (including hidden fragrance or nanomaterial components), and must comply with strict manufacturing and labeling guidelines.
Epicutis describes Lipid Shield SPF 30 as a mineral sunscreen that uses 21 % non-nano zinc oxide for broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. The formula also includes Epicutis’ proprietary “TSC” lipid compound designed to soothe skin, support skin barrier integrity, and help protect collagen under UV stress.
The company says the sunscreen is free from chemical UV filters, preservatives, and harsh additives, and is formulated to be non-comedogenic and suitable even for sensitive skin.
Because the EWG Verified mark is widely considered one of the most rigorous certifications for personal-care safety and ingredient transparency, this recognition may appeal to consumers who prioritise clean, “non-toxic” sunscreens — especially those with sensitive skin or concerns about long-term chemical exposure.
