an AI-powered biomarker analytics system for longevity


Avio Health ‘connects the dots’ in patient data, extracting key health insights to help health professionals make better, faster decisions.

In a lush suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a new AI-powered system for longevity medicine is being readied for launch. Leveraging neural networks and high-dimensional data modeling, Avio Health aims to enhance longevity and functional medicine physicians’ analysis of medical records and diagnostics.

While not yet available on the wider market, Avio Health is already being used on a daily basis by Emagene Life, the cutting-edge longevity clinic in which it was developed. The tool’s algorithms process vast amounts of complex health data, to optimize treatment plans, monitor health trajectories, and enable precision interventions to improve outcomes for the clinic’s patients. Now Avio Health is wanted by other healthcare providers, and its creator is ready to make it happen.

Longevity.Technology: While new longevity clinics are emerging with increasing frequency, the field of longevity medicine still faces a significant scalability challenge. The discipline requires that physicians analyze a wealth of information about their patients’ state of health, and it’s simply not practical to do this at scale without the use of AI. This was the realization that led Emagene Life co-founder Dr Elvin Siew to create Avio Health, and we sat down with him to find out more.

Siew, a speaker at next week’s Founders Longevity Forum event in Singapore, co-founded Emagene Life with functional medicine practitioner Dr Shirley Koeh, after she transformed his recovery following a near-death COVID-19 experience.

“The disease left a big hole in one of my lungs, which my original doctor suspected could be permanent,” he recalls. “Dr Shirley was my savior. She took the time to understand my overall health and lung condition and outlined a plan designed precisely for me. After three months of treatment, the hole in my lung had completely disappeared.”

Building an AI for health

The experience was something of an epiphany for Siew, and he approached Koeh to become his business partner, and so Emagene Life was born. Now, almost two years later, the clinic boasts repeat clients from all over the world who undergo detailed consultations and precise diagnostic tests to receive personalized treatment plans, supplements and other interventions.

“Traditional healthcare is fragmented – medical records are scattered, diagnostics lack precision, and treatment plans are reactive instead of proactive,” says Siew. “This results in misdiagnoses, missed opportunities for early intervention, and one-size-fits-all treatment plans.

“We believe in a different approach. Most of the people we treat are not sick. We treat people who want to be healthier, who want to have their energy and vitality back by doing the right thing for their body.”

Emagene’s rapid success highlighted to Siew that functional and longevity medicine was resonating with a growing segment of the population, but was not a highly scalable proposition. With a background in building technology systems for business, he set out to address the scalability challenge – working with a team of AI experts to build a large language model (LLM) for functional medicine.

“I wanted to create a functional medicine and longevity focused AI that would minimize all the time that the doctors take to analyze medical records, blood work, diet, and so on,” Siew explains. “That’s how Avio Health was born. By integrating Al-driven insights with human expertise, we transform how health is managed, predicted, and optimized. Our deep learning algorithms connect the dots in healthcare, ensuring each individual receives the right care, at the right time.”

Rapid analysis of health data

Avio Health has evolved into a medical-grade AI system engineered for functional and longevity medicine, designed to process and interpret complex, multi-dimensional health data with precision and efficiency. By integrating deep learning algorithms and proprietary functional medicine models, the system ingests and analyzes diverse datasets, including medical records, lifestyle assessments, biomarker panels, blood diagnostics, genomic insights and imaging reports. The system autonomously synthesizes this information, generating comprehensive health insights and personalized clinical recommendations in real-time.

“In traditional practice, doctors spend an inordinate amount of time manually reviewing patient data, cross-referencing biomarkers, and inputting figures into spreadsheets – it’s an inefficient and error-prone process,” says Siew. “With Avio Health, the entire workflow is automated. For example, I believe we are the first AI tool to process global blood analysis across labs.”

Avio Health rapidly parses medical reports, performs advanced statistical and trend analyses, normalizes biomarker data across multiple tests and identifies key health risks or deviations from optimal ranges. By leveraging AI-driven pattern recognition and continuous learning, the system also refines its predictive capabilities over time.

“Within minutes, physicians receive a structured summary, complete with flagged anomalies, potential diagnoses, lifestyle interventions, and tailored supplement or therapeutic recommendations,” says Siew. “This not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also allows doctors to focus on high-value patient care rather than administrative burdens.”

Developed in collaboration with encryption and military-grade cybersecurity experts to ensure that sensitive medical data is protected, Siew is also quick to stress that Avio Health is not making any kind of clinical decisions, and is simply providing recommendations based on its analysis of the data provided.

“Final decisions on diagnosis and treatment have to be made by the licensed medical practitioner,” he says. “Think of it like a medical assistant that looks through everything to help doctors make better decisions. We have created an indispensable tool for physicians, functional medicine practitioners, and longevity specialists seeking data-driven, precision-guided patient management.”

An AI data analytics platform for healthcare

After presenting Avio Health at a business summit in Dubai, Siew realized that there was a wider demand for this kind of technology.  

“Many healthcare companies started to approach us, wanting the technology to help them to analyze and process their own data through our AI,” he says. “All these clinics want to have more meaningful analysis and connectivity of their patients’ healthcare data so that their doctors can make better and faster decisions.”

Since then, Siew says he has been working closely with some international companies that are keenly interested in the technology, and has developed an API enabling hospitals and clinics to develop their own custom Al using Avio Health. His longer term goal is for the tool to become a complete health data analytics AI system, for hospitals, labs, longevity clinics and beyond.

“Everyone has lots of data, but they aren’t making use of most of it,” he says. “We connect all the dots and make complex things simple to help healthcare professionals make better medical decisions for their clients. Ultimately, I want to create a system that empowers healthcare providers to make faster, more informed decisions while also enabling them to scale their impact effectively.”
