‘The era of expensive, inaccessible healthcare is over’


Longevity platform drops pricing to $199 a year for ‘concierge level’ preventive health model that analyzes 100+ blood biomarkers.

San Francisco-based longevity healthtech Superpower has launched a $199 annual membership as it aims to bring its “concierge-level” preventative healthcare model to a wider consumer audience. The move marks a significant shift from the company’s earlier pricing strategy, which had initially proposed a $499 yearly plan.

While Superpower’s initial offering included two blood-based lab tests per year, the new $199 membership is based on one comprehensive annual lab test. The app-based platform integrates biomarker testing, AI-driven analysis, and concierge-style medical support into a single service designed to help users detect risks early and adopt personalized health routines.

“We started Superpower to democratize access to high end medicine,” Superpower co-founder Max Marchione told us. “We realized the only path there was to use technology. Now, three years later we have been able to reduce the price through AI, automation, removing middlemen, optimizing our supply chain, and going direct to consumer rather than through insurance.”

While standard blood panels often measure fewer than 20 biomarkers, Superpower tests for more than 100, spanning areas like cardiovascular health, hormone balance, metabolism, inflammation, and biological aging. Results are translated into personalized health scores and tailored action plans, with members receiving a custom longevity protocol along with access to an AI chat tool to allow them to “dig deeper” into their data.

“The era of expensive, inaccessible healthcare is over – this is what comes next,” said Superpower co-founder Jacob Peters. “Taking control of your health shouldn’t cost tens of thousands of dollars. For the first time, advanced preventative care is priced to be within reach for everyone.”  

By cutting its standard package to less than half of its initial offering, Superpower is positioning itself as an affordable alternative to conventional primary care models, aligning its price point with consumer services such as streaming subscriptions or gym memberships. With other AI-enabled healthcare providers like Function Health and Hundred Health also offering $499 entry level packages, it remains to be seen if Superpower’s move will spark a response from others in the space.

“We’re on a mission to bring the best of health to millions,” said Marchione. “Now we’re one step closer to doing just that. Just as tens of millions subscribe to affordable memberships for everyday essentials, we see a future where that same scale exists for a seminal health membership.”

The Superpower app also integrates with wearables such as Oura Ring and WHOOP, offering users a more complete picture of their health by combining traditional lab data with continuous tracking from personal devices. By streamlining access to complex diagnostic information, the company aims to simplify preventative care for a wide audience.

Founded in 2023 by Marchione, Peters, and Kevin Unkrich, Superpower has raised $34 million to date, including $30 million in Series A funding in April. That round, led by Forerunner Ventures with participation from Day One Ventures, Susa Ventures, Long Journey Ventures, and several celebrity investors, reportedly valued the company at more than $300 million. Other backers include high profile individuals, such as NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, musician Steve Aoki, actress Vanessa Hudgens, investor Balaji Srinivasan, and Sweetgreen co-founder Jonathan Neman.
