Designs for Health, in collaboration with ClostraBio, has launched a commercial product featuring the next-generation probiotic strain Anaerostipes caccae CLB101™, according to the company. The company said that this marks its commercial entry through a practitioner-channel partnership with Designs for Health.
ClostraBio said that it has initiated a 48-subject human clinical study evaluating CLB101™ to confirm its safety and tolerability, with exploratory endpoints on gut health and intestinal barrier integrity. The company claims that the study is enrolling rapidly.
In addition, the company said it will participate in the SupplySide Global industry event from October 27-30 to showcase its progress and engage with the supplements and probiotics market. The company claims that CLB101™ is differentiated from legacy probiotics as a strict anaerobe capable of producing butyrate in the lower gut and has achieved self-affirmed GRAS status.
The collaboration is stated by the company to reflect a shared commitment to rigorous scientific validation in the practitioner market and positions the ingredient’s commercial and clinical launches as key milestones in its next-generation microbiome platform.
